Our cabin

Just got back from being in Anchor Point, Alaska for 3 weeks, building our vacation cabin. What a beautiful place to live and the people has been so kind and sweat to us. Small town about 3,000 people which spread all over the area. Its locate between Homer and Soldotna / Kenai. You can google it and find out about this beautiful area. We were stressed but in our own terms, building our 400 sq ft cabin using local material, white spruce. Even though it was stressful we enjoyed every step from squaring the block for our floor to all the finishing touch. Next year's vacation would be putting a water system, composite toilet, kitchen and a deck. Cannot wait to decorate the interior with quilts, quilts from bedspread, wall hanging and every small house hold like hot pot mittens, curtains, table cloth etc. I will be busy all winter sewing away during those cold rainy months before heading back to Alaska again in May 2012.

Ring

Did I show you my ring, yet?. Its an Ellensburg blue, yes, only found in eastern Washington town of Ellensburg. Its facet (?) and in white gold.

Knitting

I am going through another phase, knitting. It is much easier to knit while traveling than sewing. Taking sometime off from working, and amazingly I still run out of time to do many many things.
Big projects in the works, cleaning my horrible cluttered house and garage and oh ya, I got engaged and getting married this coming Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Forks, WA at the Kalaloch Lodge to my wonderful partner in life, Dale Bradley Rahier, can't wait to call him DH, dear husband or dale honey.... Its beautiful setting and yes, it is where Twilight Saga stories was based and I am a big fan of the books but more important, just a gorgeous place to get married. Outside, in front of the cabins off the bluff. Will take many many pictures, and yes, I do need to make our own quilt for our bed as a married couple. Any ideas? Its anybody reading this blog? I feel like Julie from Julie and Julia.

I am back

Sadly, I have not blog for awhile, busy playing and reconnecting with my fellow facebook people. Hah... I have people.... what a cool commercial. Did I tell you that I give up television all together? Too much junk, all I have now is my big flat screen tv with a bunch of movies waiting for me to what again and again plus NETFLIX. Is a way for us pre scree movies before we pay hard earn money to buy the DVD and I am not buying into the blue ray stuff, more money to spend.

Since last post, felt in love with the most wonderful man and still crazy in love ( maybe the reason blogging got away from me), been traveling allot since. To Texas, Alaska fishing Salmon and not much quilting. Shifting my likes to antiques and old civil war pattern and fabric.

Fall

I just love Fall.... need to wake up and motivate myself to make fall color quilts and my next project should be... traditional blocks quilt. Dark blue and white or off white blocks?. The fall colors might have to wait or be done between projects. Any suggestion what to do? Hopefully a queen size for my bed. I am thinking of buying a new bed with new mattress. My old one is an iron frame, its beautiful but very uncomfortable to lean back while reading in bed. Did I tell you all how much I love my kindle? Love it. Done reading Molokai and Honolulu. Now reading hm... well, nothing is motivating me but the Dog days by John Katz. Its funny, very funny actually. I love his donkeys, especially Carol and now Jesus ( Spanish pronunciation). He is a good and light writter, its like reading his diary. I think I am going to look for the old classics to read, like Killing a Mockingbird, the Tales of Two Cities etc. Someone suggested Lonesome Dove. Hm... I wonder if they have them in Kindle store.

ITS HERE

My Kindle DX arrived today, oh joy! And all my books that I pre purchased, all there.
Oh joy. Hope I won't be disappointed. I am sure I won't. I can't. Too expensive to not enjoy it. I wonder if I can purchase some quilting books?
